Dew claws removed, been through puppy development exercises and most socialization processes. He was exposed to alone time in the crate, but current conditions have him crated again with another dog. Had first shots (parvo and distemper only) as well as a chiropractic adjustment at 9 weeks of age. Has been introduced to both holistic kibble (Blue Buffalo brand) and raw meat. Loves to give kisses on the mouth - this will be important for him to bond and feel safe in his new home. He is a brave and adventurous boy who wants to be included in everything possible! He has already mastered the stairs at his young age (took his mom 7 months to be brave enough to go down the back stairs and she still won't go down the inside house stairs, but Alvin does them all!). He loves car rides, loves walks, loves to do anything that he is with people and enjoying new experiences. His eyes take in absolutely everything going on around him and he'll look deeply into your eyes for confirmation of this and that. An incredibly sweet and smart boy! Other than holding it overnight, he's going outside regularly with the big dogs every 4 hours and I haven't needed puppy pads during the day.
EXPECTING!
Rizzo started out easy with her first litter, bearing one healthy baby girl on 7-5-08. We were sure there were more, but as it turned out she has a milk bar to feed 10, but only had one baby. Please keep your eyes on the site for more details.

Gorgeous, petite female from champion lines. Born October 2006. She's just a little snippet of a thing, making her very easy to carry or to take everywhere with you! She gets along well with other animals, but is so small she would not be a good fit for families with young children because she would be too fragile.
SHOW PUGS: We work closely with some show breeders in the area. There are two high-quality pugs from champion lines that are being sold to pet only homes. Please contact me if interested and I will pass along their information. Pictures will be posted as received. They might have some show quality for placement within the next year.
Frenchies
No french bulldog puppies available until early 2009 unless we have one available from a stud fee.

The bassett hound has been placed, for those of you watching out for him.
We now have three cats in need of homes.
Winter was dumped in the town two days before Christmas 2007. She chose our porch to live on and because it was cold and she had been a housecat until treated so poorly, she desperately wanted inside. I guessed her to not be full grown because she was so tiny, but it turns out she's simply a petite cat because she hasn't grown any more since she arrived. I would still say she's quite young, though. I had her spayed and her ear notched as a symbol of having been spayed for whatever circumstances she might run into in her future. She's very sweet, very good with the dogs and the puppies, and hasn't been snippy with anyone. She likes to snuggle but isn't pushy about it. If I had room for another cat, I would keep her in a heartbeat, but I simply don't. Winter is great about using the litterbox, but when it gets a little full she will kick out litter. So the cleaner it is kept, the neater she is about it. I have tried to feed Winter raw food, but she prefers kibble.

Bob
Bob is a large, but not fat, cat. Because of her size, I thought it was a male for the longest time and called him Bob, but just found out a couple of days ago he's a she! But another name hasn't come to me, yet :)
Bob was another drop-off here about a month ago. She was obviously an indoor cat with a beautiful coat that isn't quite yellow but isn't quite orange. Her fur needs a little bit of attention now, having lived outdoors for this length of time without having found a home. She wanders between houses, trying to get someone to take her in. I have watched her follow many people walking to and fro to the post office, meowing behind them, asking if they will take her in. But no one has. She was brave enough to come inside this house, but between the dogs and the cats, the visit was short-lived and she likes to visit us on the porch, instead.
She is a very sweet girl and it's been traumatic on her to have been dumped like she was, but we're hoping that she'll find a home where she is loved more than her first one. And Bob will actually eat raw food! It's so nice meeting a cat who knows what good food is!
Please read our Things You Need to Know about purchasing a puppy from us. Thanks!
Here is a slide show of some of our favorite puppy pictures.
Our puppies have had their dew claws vet-removed. They receive their initial vet check at a few days old, then again when they receive their first set of shots (and as necessary in between). The vet's name is on the shot records and can be contacted if you have any questions about the puppies.
The puppies are maintained on a vet-approved minimal vaccination protocol and will be tested for parasites (and wormed accordingly, if necessary). If you are interested in a totally holistic upbringing, that can be arranged if you contact me via email where we can discuss the details.
They will be allowed to go home when they are mature enough to handle the change of environment. We work with them all on an individual basis to ensure readiness and strive to make the transition as stress-free as possible.
When you see a puppy or a litter announcement that interests you, please send us an application for review. Approved applicants are welcome to submit a deposit for a particular puppy, or for choice of said puppies on an arranged date.
Prospective owners are always welcome to visit to meet the parents and the puppies and are encouraged to visit several breeders before making a purchase. Pay particular attention to health and the mental well-being of the puppies and you'll soon recognize the difference between those who are secure in their environment and those who aren't. Proper stimulation and socialization help a puppy become a secure adult who is able to cope with a wide variety of circumstances and situations. Don't be afraid to ask questions on how they are raised from any breeder with whom you speak!
Each puppy will go home with its shot record, a new toy, a blanket that smells like the litter, a small bag of dog food that they are currently eating, a pedigree chart, and the AKC registration papers. We used to do an application of frontline for fleas, but have opted for a more natural approach and have found that we have not needed any chemical flea preventatives.
Please contact us with your application information or any questions you might have.
