After attending a dog show, we fell in LOVE with a french bulldog there. We searched for a couple of years, looking for the right one and were led to the Sosas in Louisana who have some of the best frenchies in the country. We are very fortunate to have added a Bandog to our family - there is just nothing like the nice heads which are found in lines like the Cox and Bandog lines.
We have been working with some great local handlers who have put their heart and soul into getting Gator up and ready for the show ring. He is trained inside the ring now, loves going to shows, loves visiting the handlers. But all the judges have said the same thing - he needs just a couple more pounds on him to really be filled out nicely. Unfortunately, our little guy prefers a certain weight and when he exceeds it, he stops eating. I guess he likes to keep his figure. But after working with some people in the field, we have him on a program now and he's finally bulking up a bit. Or it could be as his breeders have pointed out - the line is slow maturing and reaches their peak between 3-6 years old. We'd rather have him healthy and slow-maturing than overweight and constantly battling to keep it down!
I'm excited with his progress and we're looking forward to more shows where he can strut his stuff!
