Fa Zhou
Fa Zhou bears a strong resemblance both in
looks and personality to his mother, Daisy. He's a strong-hearted soul who looks
forward to new experiences and challenges. He's a great all-around dog in
both looks and personality and he is developing very nicely. He caught our
eye first as a puppy with his strong stance and his head-on stare. All
designed to capture the attention and affection of the closest person!
He is the most aloof of the litter, if a pug can be aloof. When there is someone new, he stands back and watches for a bit and when he makes up his mind, then he will reach out and be friendly. He's not scared, just observant. We think this might be the influence of our german shepherd. He LOVES her and has declared her his best friend and role model. In the night when there are cats, raccoons or anything else to chase away from the yard and she goes to investigate, he runs outside and is right there beside her, adding his little puggy bark to her intimidating one. When she returns to the edge of the house to watch intently, he sits by her tail and watches with her, listening for any signs of intruders. Once all is clear, they lay down together. It's a very sweet relationship and the GSD is training him to be a guard dog. He has the basics down pat - don't bark unless it's necessary, but a little bark to keep the bad things away doesn't hurt, be observant, and take good care of your people. Where he falls short is that being a pug, he can't hold a grudge. He ends up like everyone anyway, even the cats :)
Please read our Things You Need to Know about purchasing a puppy from us. Thanks!
Here is a slide show of some of our favorite puppy pictures.
Our puppies have had their dew claws vet-removed. They receive their initial vet check at a few days old, then again when they receive their first set of shots (and as necessary in between). The vet's name is on the shot records and can be contacted if you have any questions about the puppies.
The puppies are maintained on a vet-approved minimal vaccination protocol and will be tested for parasites (and wormed accordingly, if necessary). If you are interested in a totally holistic upbringing, that can be arranged if you contact me via email where we can discuss the details.
They will be allowed to go home when they are mature enough to handle the change of environment. We work with them all on an individual basis to ensure readiness and strive to make the transition as stress-free as possible.
When you see a puppy or a litter announcement that interests you, please send us an application for review. Approved applicants are welcome to submit a deposit for a particular puppy, or for choice of said puppies on an arranged date.
Prospective owners are always welcome to visit to meet the parents and the puppies and are encouraged to visit several breeders before making a purchase. Pay particular attention to health and the mental well-being of the puppies and you'll soon recognize the difference between those who are secure in their environment and those who aren't. Proper stimulation and socialization help a puppy become a secure adult who is able to cope with a wide variety of circumstances and situations. Don't be afraid to ask questions on how they are raised from any breeder with whom you speak!
Each puppy will go home with its shot record, a new toy, a blanket that smells like the litter, a small bag of dog food that they are currently eating, a pedigree chart, and the AKC registration papers. We used to do an application of frontline for fleas, but have opted for a more natural approach and have found that we have not needed any chemical flea preventatives.
Please contact us with your application information or any questions you might have.
